Not again...

LATEST: 8.5 richter quake in North Sumatra

Any worse than boxing day's calamity? Possibly.

Tremors were felt by many Singaporeans from various locations, punggol, toapayoh, whampoa, marina parade and so on. From the several accounts by Singaporeans featured on Channel News Asia via telephone, most said they felt no tremors during the 26th dec quake but tremors felt today were very strong and serious.

"The building was swaying..."

"The crystals were banging against the window..."

"I felt my bed shaking quite badly..."

How scary is that heh?

Poor people of banda aceh are once against panic stricken since the quake occured very close to the 26th december one.

Run, run! Once bitten, twice shy...

Oh well, let's hope the tsunamis decide not to strike... again.

I hate studying!

Grr.. Studying is a pain in the butt!

Every time a new semester starts, I tell myself to constantly revise and know my stuff well so that when the exams come, I'll have it easy.

But no, I know for sure that will help but laziness just gets the better of me alllllll the time. So what the heck...

Back to suffering.. Sigh..

Sweett...

I grew up drinking Coke. It just seems like the best drink around. It's refreshing, yummy, sweet, tries to keep you awake and what not. But I kinda stopped drinking that because of the 7 tbsps of sugar. I used to be a fat kid, and I don't want to be obese again, never.

So, what's stocked in my house now are cartons of guilt-free Coke Light - 0 calories (beat that!). I drink coke light almost everyday. On average about 1 a day, and on good days, maybe 2-3 cans. Exam season, 4 perhaps?

Surfed the almighty web for side effects of aspartame and acesulfame K (the artificial sweetening agents). Guess what I found? Some anti-coke light groups stated that excessive consumption of the sweetening agents might cause some serious brain damage. How true?

-Ponders- now I know where those headaches come from...

I'm still thinking straight, no?

Tribal Beats

I was down at Esplanade's concourse checking out the programme Tribal Beats of the Mosaic Music Festival.

EuroAsia Project, the band, performed numbers like My Waya song by Corrs and even a chinese number called uhhh... i forgot. What was most unique was that the musicians came from different cultures - A Spanish Guitarist, Irish Violinist and they-did-not-mention Ethnic Percussionist. It was a VERY refreshing mix of jazz, classical, spanish guitar and funky percussion.

The band drew a good crowd and they were all evidently impressed with EuroAsia Project.

No regrets going down Esplanade at all... Oh yes, before that I dined at Little India, had oh so yummylicious naan. :D

At least they managed to squeeze smiles out of me!

Speck

I'm a mere speck of dust that settled on a pretty flower vase waiting to be swept away.

Pfft.

Propaganda?

I've been watching the 9 o'clock show on Channel 8 and have arrived at a conclusion.

The government is desperate, yes desperate for babies! Its' propaganda at its finest.

They feature a career-minded woman whom got pregnant accidentally and wanted an abortion. Then, the dad, a widower, goes on about how he managed to raise three kids alone, and that the process was a breeze.

Right.

Is it really that simple to raise a kid? I'll probably expand my family only when i'm say... 28, 29?

Life tastes awfully bitter.

I'm on the... the top of a stool!

This life will be ever-competitive. Be it in studies, sports or even just popularity. There seems to be a constant chase to be on top.

"It's lonely at the top."

It's so damn true most of the time eh? Looking back sucks.

Lethargy

Sigh.. don't know why but I've been feeling really lethargic and restless. I'm sitting here watching time go to waste. All I do is surf the web, look at photos, watch teevee, chat and just bum. I need help, professional maybe?

"All you gotta do is call, and I'll be there... You've got a friend.."

That's a line from the McFly rendition of You've got a friend. It seems to bear so much meaning despite its simple lyrics. Lovely song it is, really...

I really shouldn't be spending time on stuff that won't print As on my transcript. I ought to catch up on my work lest I get ousted by society for failing to last in the paper chase.

Oh boy, what a joy!

That's one of the taglines of Roti Boy, the somewhat new fad in town. It's this coffee-cream coated bun that has 'planta' slabs within and albeit awfully sinful, it's yummilicious! Trust me, "One is never enough!" Yes, that's another one of those taglines.

So far, everyone who I've introduced the bun has loved it and they just can't help but go back for more. It's funny how such a simple bun, with seemingly simple ingredients, can be such a delicacy. With a small stall cramped with countless staff, it's no wonder the bun retails at a whoppin' $1.20!

What's unique about the Roti Boy bakery is that it sells only its roti boy buns! There are many other Roti Boy copycats in the market. I've personally tried the one Bread Talk serves, but hey, no fight man! I remember vaguely reading in the ST about the various copycats, was one Roti-mama or something?

Anyhow, it's a sure joy to be having Roti Boy buns :D If you haven't already tried them, be victimised at China Square or Toa Payoh HDB Hub.

Maiden Post

You must be thinking, 'Cruions..? What?!'

Yes indeed, I wanted a blog name that would have my name in it. At the same time, I've been very inspired by the work of various photographers.

Anyhow, crayons it is.

You see rui, pronounced ray, and you see crayons that remind me of pictures, photos.. And no, I'm not artistically inclined, at all. I can't draw, sketch, colour and the list just goes on.. Sigh.

Having had a couple of blogs before this, I'm seriously doubting how long this will last. Why do I even try? Hah.
