Sentosa

Can you imagine what it would be like to have remained a part of Malaysia?

I see us, Singapore, to be the Sentosa of Malaysia. We are essentially an island, and our original sentosa is also an island, only much smaller. Given the size of Singapore, being many times larger than Sentosa, it would be an attraction, an entertainment hub, the las vegas of asia and what not.

Singapore would host Formula One races, world cups, and other high profile events that would roll in the big buckaroos. We would have homes by the sea accompanied by luxurious yachts parked in their backyard (the sea). The rich would flock to Singapore to experience living in exotic asia.

Look, Singapore would be such an attraction and could even possibly be one of the world's largest attractions.

But then again, Singapore's Singapore. And my thoughts will always remain my little insignificant thoughts.

How 'bout adding a few artificial mountains for the nature enthusiasts?

Stress is an Addiction

While I was in Cambodia serving the community, something occured to me. We felt bored, sian and miraculously unhurried. Then I started to wonder why...

Back in Singapore, everything moves at formula one pace - life is absolutely hectic. We are so stressed that when we are suddenly dumped into a carefree lifestyle, we start to feel uneasy. In some worse cases, withdrawl symptoms actually start to surface - people talk funny, sing funny, and simply don't make sense.

Feeling stressed is a norm, a habit or worse, an addiction for most, if not all Singaporeans. We need rehab.

I.e. Send us all to the Himalayas!

Home Sweet Home

I'm homeee!

The trip to Cambodia was enriching, fun and very fulfilling. The project was a success - we completed building the play facility for children with mental disabilities.

I'm too lazy to recount my experience in detail, so I'll let the pictures do the talking.

I'll update soon, I hope...
