The Cruelty of Life

I was sitting at the bus stop watching a shabbily dressed lame old man, whose foot seemed to be dislocated from his leg - it was hanging loosely. He was clothed in an outfit seemingly made of rags and moved with the aid of crutches.

As he nears the bus stop, he stops by the dustbin, puts his weight on the crutches, and uses his hands to open the dustbin. He rummaged through the rubbish and thrash within and picked up a cup with a straw in it. I reckon he was so thirsty and poor that he had to drink from the cup. Surely it wasn't enough, so he went for another cup - this time a big gulp. Again, he drank from the straw in the cup.

At that moment, part of me wanted to capture a picture of his poor state, and at the same time I was disgusted at how cruel life can be.

I thought to myself as I put away my camera, "I'm a lucky bastard."

A tree-nymph butterfly, it flys slowly unlike most butterflies. Very graceful! But not tasty at all...

Teachers hate me

First it was Chor Lili who never failed to pick on me to answer questions, to get me to shut up, to get me to do this, do that... Only because I was Mr Trouble-maker in her class. But honestly, I never had that bloody intention.

It was so bad that everyone in the class could sense her dislike for me. To make things worse, it was a joint class with another class - that's DOUBLE the embarassment. Ahh well... So BCA was over and I thought all shall be good again...

BUT NO!

Now HRM tutor, Mrs Jennifer Quek, HATES ME TOO!

I was just sitting at the back innocently, trying not to fall asleep whilst looking at my tutorial materials then occassionally looking up to acknowledge what a classmate was reading. Then she asks, 'Gentleman at the back, can you hear her?' I nodded. Seconds later, 'Give your comments after she's done.'

Then she glares at me followed by sarcastically asking, 'So what are your comments on her answer?'

It may all sound okay, normal for a teacher to ask question. But wait till your hear the tone she used, the look on her face... Sigh.

Do I really have a kiam pah, pai kia, bad student, troublemaker kinda face?

But of course I gave her my comments that were shabbily thought up and phrased and just blasted it all out to her. Hope that helped.

But, WHY ALWAYS ME? I'm most angelic in class...
