rui is a loser.

After days of job hunting (seriously, it wasn't that extensive as it sounds) with the help of Recruit, I almost got a job as a Starhub sales man. But no, thought they were exploiting us so decided to give it no go.

Why is rui a loser, you may ask. Well, the answer is simple. After attending interviews, then the training session, I pulled out. Not only that, I ended up getting a job from my dad. Like what??? What kinda job huntin' is that, man?

Anyhow, I'm promoting biscuits at the almighty Mustafa Shopping Centre (MEGAMALL more like it). Not just any ordinary biscuits, but high quality Italian Balocco Wafers. It's well established in Europe and is trying to find its place in Asia. So yea, here I am, playing my part.

Being a promoter is pretty fun, when there are sales that is. Otherwise, it gets really dreadful and you won't feel the least motivated. It also sucks to be stacking the stocks and tagging the pricetags, especially if you have to do it in the midst of the ALMIGHTY Mustafa Crowd. Trust me, it sucks. But anyhow, it's still rewarding to have your customers take the wafers and buy them!

We might be moving to other locations to promote Balocco and Pine & Crane (P&C) Coffee such as Sheng Shiong's expanding supermarket range. It's fun to work in pairs, being alone is dreadful and boring, really. Oh well, we'll take it as it goes.

Oh yea, guess what people?!

RUI, yes Quek Siu Rui, went for baking class at Phoon Huat's Baking Skills Development Centre (or something like that, just trying to make it sound glamorous) and learnt to bake heavenly (okay, not quite) Ciabatta Bread and a dessert, low-fat Raspberry Parfait (honestly, what's a parfait?!)

It was pretty exciting an experience.

Walking into the centre was the weirdest feeling on earth. I entered the baking class (big-ass kitchen with big-ass machinery) only to find that there were 9 other Aunties present. I was the only young student, and the only male one as well. Thank goodness, the teacher (chef) wasn't female. So yes, I wasn't the only male specie around. -phew

I was sitting there alone, waiting patiently for the class to begin. And well, I saw everyone getting their utensils, their tools and equipment ready. But I just sat there. Seriously, I had no idea what to do, what to take, where to take, etc. So I just sat there like some fool.

Thankfully, these pair of aunties asked me to partner them! So it was cool! They guided me along, and gave me lotsa opportunities to try out the procedures involved. It was a joint effort so really, they gave way to me alot! THANK YOU AUNTIES!

Anyhow, the whole experience was great! I really feel like baking at home, but as my friends would know how sparse my house is, especially the kitchen. Bah!

Oh well, Phoon Huat's teaching Cookies and some Chocolate Almond cake next week. Should I go?

We'll see. Take care folks! ;p

Xue Lang Hu

Tell me about luck. Just yesterday, Dad told me he has 2 tickets to Xue Lang Hu and offered them to me. But of course, how can I not let my parents go! I mean it's Zhang Xue You, they like him more than I do. Of course part of me wanted to go lah. About an hour later, dad got another ticket! And so, I managed to join them! Yeeeehaw!

Anyway, why I say I'm lucky... When Jay Chou came last year (or this year?), I had free tickets too! Like whatttt?! I'm blessed, man.

Snow Wolf Lake was kinda good - the music, the lights, the colours, the dresses, the cast, the singing... but one thing was lacking, and that's the atmosphere. Prior to the start of the show, there was no build up, no music playing, no nothing. When the show started, at best it was applauses. It was nothing like Jay Chou's concert where the fans yelled away their throats, lungs whatever. I really wondered why...

Then it came to me - probably half the concert hall were my parents' peers, 30+ 40+ 50+ and so on. Bah.

Anyhow, its really amazing how fantastic the vocals were. They managed to last through about 3 hours of yelling, I mean singing, cool or not?

It was a good experience, good entertainment, but horrendously uncomfortable seats. I kept fidgeting in my seat, having to change position to avoid my butt from numbing and to ease the sore on my tailbone. Singapore Indoor Stadium needs to be refurbished, really!

Holidays are here, by the way. So good night while I try to avoid waking up at 2.30pm again.

Shot at the Singapore Zoo! Some animals away on a holiday.

PES

I dread every test or exam that comes my way.

Without fail, a headache will haunt me after every paper be it a test or an exam.

I've since identified it as the Post Exam Syndrome (PES). Is it something common out there? Drop me a comment and let me know if you're a fellow PES-er! Cause then we can be PES friends, thats almost like BEST friends you know?

So yea, good day! while I snooze awayy..
